My story, told
through food.
For me, cooking has always been about telling a story.
It is how I share who I am, where I come from, the places I've been, the things I love and the people who have shaped me. Every dish carries a little piece of that story, and Braai Society is my way of sharing it with you.
My journey with food has taken me from cooking for the people around me, to creating dining experiences and eventually into the MasterChef South Africa kitchen. Along the way, my cooking has changed, my technique has grown and my understanding of food has deepened — but what I love about food has remained remarkably simple.
I don't believe great food is about pretty plates, fancy cutlery or making something complicated simply for the sake of it.
It should be generous.
It should be filling.
And above everything else,
it should be delicious.
Ugly delicious, some might call it.
Braai Society was born from that philosophy.
The grill is at the heart of what we do, but it doesn't define the boundaries of what we cook. Our menu brings together the food I grew up around, flavours I've discovered along the way and dishes I simply love to eat.
That's why pap and dombolo can share a menu with bao and flatbreads. Why a great steak can sit alongside kingklip, prawns or a bowl of spicy rice. There are influences from South Africa and beyond, but they all tell part of the same story.

My story, told through food.
And now that you're sitting at our table, I hope a little of it becomes yours too.

Good Food • Great Grill • Better Together

Come hungry.
Stay late.
There's no dress code and no ceremony. Just a grill that's been going since morning and a seat with your name on it.
